I continue my experimentation with the wonderful Martha Stewart Crafter’s Clay and I am amazed at what I can actually do with it.
Here are my latest creations:

I love Martha Stewart Crafters Clay – Part 2
We pick up our story from when I left you to play with more of my Martha Stewart Crafters Clay. I found that it’s pretty hard to ‘overwork’ your clay, but eventually it will not be very happy with you ( if it’s a small piece and been left out for a little while), otherwise I had no problems.
The last time I played with any material like this, it was plasticine and I kept expecting to have to struggle with the blending but it was so easy and I had to keep reminding myself, ‘this is not plasticine’!
HOW TO MAKE: beautiful 3D paper flowers

3D Flower punch – Carnation |

One strip of the pattern. I am using K&Company papers. |

Two strips, 12″ long each |

I suggest you use double sided pattern paper |

Slowly roll up the strip, holding it at the bottom. I then place a dab of glue every couple of inches as I’m rolling the paper to give it added adhesion. |

…rolling, rolling, rolling… |

a complete bud – made with one strip |

a flower made with 2 strips and a little mulberry paper rolled in for good measure |

I thought the ‘scraps’ from the punch looked really cool so instead of throwing them out, I made a topper for a card |
This has to be my new favourite project!

When you can’t use one arm…
Old Richmond Hill
I love living in Richmond Hill. It’s a beautiful town just north of Toronto and it has been my home for the past 16 years. Much has happened since my family, including my parents, moved into our Richmond Hill home. It looks like we will be moving away from here in the not-too-distant future and I am already feeling nostalgic. I’m grateful we lived here and that my children were able to attend excellent schools, have good health care and be surrounded by such natural beauty.

A little out of season, but…
Next is my terrarium. It has been with me since my daughter was in Grade 2! She needed to do a ‘green project’ and my hubby had found these wonderful glass bowls (it is 2 feet round), so we made a cute little garden. I have tended it and by my math, it has been thriving with NO change of earth for 11 years!
It is so nice having green, living, breathing flora especially as the days get darker and colder. Don’t you agree?
